FINANCING THE CHURCH Lf you love the Lord and His church as you should you will do your part toward supporting it. Your part may be large or it may be small, but what ever your part is, you are obliged to do it. “If you cannot give your thousands, You can give the widow’s mite; And the least you give for Jesus Will be precious in His sight.” Many of our members have not subscribed and are not paying anything. Others have subscribed, but are not keeping their pledges paid up. We should and must take this matter seriously. A church can not exist on good wishes alone. Do your part. That part is one-tenth of your income according to the scriptures. •o PASTORAL LETTER Dear Christian Friends: The summer has about disappeared. Most of you have enjoyed it in various ways. Now that autumn is before us, let us enter upon our church activities with more serious attention. This letter is a personal invitation to you, your loved ones and your friends to resume church work with fervor. Just a few sug gestions. 1. To you without a church home: Come and help us to worship our God and Savior Jesus Christ. In HIM ALONE will you find life, peace and happiness. COME! 2. To you who are a member: Will you not make a better effort to be present at every service? Irregu lar attendance shows a low estimate of the church’s value. There’s a seat for you at every service. FILL IT! 3. To you who have a churchless father, mother, sister, brother, friend or neighbor: Pray for them. Invite them. Help others to find Christ. 4. To you who have children: BRING them to the church school of religious education. Learn of Christ. Dear friend, I know you would follow Christ, therefore whatever hindered you from attending church in the past, forget it—and come to church— -o The height of foolishness is to insure the time clock in the office, store or factory against theft. Everyone watches it.
